Gallery - Butterfly Hospice build
(other build galleries available on request)
It was a flat, well drained meadow overlooked by the hospital as seen in the background.
Its all in the preparation. Made on a flat surface, the sleepers where positioned to my exact liking to create a symmetrical shape.
Sleepers now levelled and staked into position.
Grass scraped off, soil removed and hardcore added.
I designed this garden to create separate and private gardens for visitors and patients of the hospice. Here you can see the shapes come together.
The design was also on a tight budget. To save money, soil excavated was used to build up the raised borders. This also helps maintenance, another key element of the design.
Edging blocks for the wheel chair friendly pathway
The planting helped add to the secluded but connected gardens with many unique plants added
Another view showing the shape and flow of the garden.
